About
Who is Q&M Massage?
Hi, I'm Alex, a Licensed Massage Therapist in Denver who came to bodywork after over a decade in the restaurant business; from culinary school at the CIA to managing high-end spots in Boston's restaurant scene. Now I'm deeply in love with massage.
Turns out the skills translate: reading people, adjusting on the fly, creating space where someone can actually relax. I work with people who use their bodies hard; restaurant workers, lifters, runners, creatives, anyone who trains or moves a lot and wants to feel good doing it. I don't just chase knots. I listen to what your body's holding and help it let go. When I'm not working, I'm at the gym, backpacking, running, cooking, or building large-scale art for Burning Man.
Self-care is my priority, it's how I stay strong and grounded so I can show up fully for my clients. It's an honor to help people every day through compassionate, intentional care.
Your body is wise, capable, and deserving of care. Let's honor its strength and its need to rest.
Preparing for your Session
Before You Arrive:
- Hydrate. Drink water throughout the day before your session. It helps your muscles respond better to the work and makes recovery smoother.
- Eat something light if you're coming straight from work or the gym. You don't want to be starving or overly full, just comfortable.
- Wear whatever feels easy to move in. You'll undress to your comfort level once you're on the table, but loose clothes make the transition easier.
What to Expect:
We'll start with a quick conversation about what's going on in your body. Where you're feeling tight or pain, what you've been doing (training, sitting at a desk for 10 hours, moving furniture, etc.), and what you're hoping to get out of the session. This isn't a questionnaire. It's a conversation. The more honest you are, the better I can help.
During the session, communicate. If pressure is too much or not enough, say so. If something feels good or weird or uncomfortable, tell me. Your body's feedback is part of the process, and I can't read your mind, only your muscles.
After Your Session:
- Drink more water. I know, I sound like a broken record, but it matters. Your body just did some serious releasing. Help it flush out what it let go of.
- You might feel amazing immediately. You might feel a little sore or tired for a day or two. Both are normal. Deep work sometimes takes a minute to settle. We released a lot of stuck energy!
- Move gently. Stretch if it feels good. Don't immediately go crush a PR at the gym. Let your body integrate the work.
